Communication from the City Manager and Interim Corporation Counsel with a Request to APPROVE an AGREEMENT Between METHODIST MEDICAL CENTER OF ILLINOIS, PROCTOR HOSPITAL and the CITY OF PEORIA.

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  Methodist Hospital and Proctor Hospital (collectively, “Hospital”) own certain properties within the City of Peoria. The Illinois Vehicle Code authorizes a contract between the City and the Hospital for the regulation of traffic on the Hospital’s private property. This Agreement will allow the enforcement of traffic regulations by Hospital security, who will be appointed Special Parking Officers. The Special Parking Officers will write city ordinance parking violation tickets on the Hospital campus with fines payable to the City of Peoria.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  Increased revenue from parking violations.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  None.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Ability for the Hospital to enforce regulations against parking violations.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Status quo.
