Communication from the City Manager and Emergency Communications Center Manager with a Request to APPROVE a 5 Year SITE LEASE AGREEMENT Between the City of Peoria and PEORIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT 150 for $500.00 per year.

Body

BACKGROUND: Peoria Public Schools District 150 school bus radio system presently has poor radio coverage at their existing tower site and has approached the City of Peoria to use tower space on one of our radio towers at our Grandview Tower site. This will greatly enhance their radio coverage for their school bus operations.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  $ 500.00 per year will cover the electrical costs of the City. The City is required to maintain the tower site so there will be no additional cost impact to the City.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  None

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Enhanced radio communications for School Buses

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Radio coverage will continue to be an issue for the school buses.

ALTERNATIVES:  Additional tower sights would need to be considered.

EEO CERTIFICATION NUMBER: N/A
