Communication from Mayor Jim Ardis with a Recommendation to Approve a RESOLUTION to Increase the COMPENSATION of the CITY MANAGER by $3,787.06, to be Allocated as a Bonus, Salary Increase, Deferred Compensation, or Any Combination as Deemed Appropriate by the City Manager.

BACKGROUND:  The Mayor and the City Council conducted a performance review of the City Manager, Patrick Urich covering the period of January 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2017. Based upon that review, the attached Resolution increases Patrick Urich’s compensation by $3,787.06 (2%) to be taken as a one-time bonus, an increase in base salary, an increase in deferred compensation or any combination deemed appropriate by the City Manager. Any increase in base salary is retroactive to January 1, 2017. It should be noted that the Mayor and Council approved a 3.5% increase for the period of Jan.1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2016 but City Manager declined the increase due to budgetary concerns.  The City Manager has not received a salary adjustment for two years.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  $3,787.06 will be distributed as a one-time bonus, an increase in base salary, increase in deferred compensation or any combination thereof.
