Body
BACKGROUND: The City of Peoria routinely contracts elevator maintenance services for buildings it owns. ThyssenKrupp Elevator Company provides maintenance on all elevator systems in buildings owned by the City of Peoria including City Hall, Police Headquarters, Municipal Services Building, the Gateway Building, two Parking Decks, and Riverfront Village.

The original contractual agreement approved by Council on November 22, 2011 under Item #11-507 provided for an initial period of three years, with two (2) one-year extensions based on contractor performance during the initial period of the contract, at the discretion of the City. The initial period of Contract #11-507 ended November 30, 2014.

ThyssenKrupp has agreed to a contract extension utilizing their 2012 rates. Therefore, the Facilities Maintenance Manager recommends extending this contract until November 30, 2015. This is the first of three (3) possible extensions, since the Facilities Manager is able to utilize ThyssenKrupp's 2012 rates.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The annual expenditure for this contract is estimated at $36,543.00. In utilizing 2012 rates, however, the total contract for 2015 will be $36,102. Funding for these services are budgeted in the 2015 Facilities Operation and Parking Decks line items.
