Communication from the City Manager and the Fire Chief with a Request to Approve the PURCHASE of Three (3) 2015 FORD EXPLORERS from WRIGHT AUTOMOTIVE, in the Amount of $86,314.00, from the State Contract Bidding Process, and to Approve the PURCHASE of Two (2) 2015 FORD EXPEDITIONS, in the Amount of $63,774.00, from LANDMARK FORD from the State Contract Bidding Process, Making the Total Purchase Amount $150,088.00.

BACKGROUND: The Peoria Fire Department will be replacing vehicles that are beyond the City of Peoria's Fleet Replacement Policy. These vehicles are used on a daily basis and are required to be safe and reliable.
These vehicles will allow us to replace one (1) 1997 Ford Van, one (1) 1997 Chevy Blazer, two (2) 2001 Chevy Tahoe's and one (1) 2006 Chevy Impala; these vehicles each have over 100,000 miles on them and/or have major mechanical issues.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: This total purchase of $150,088 is included in the 2015 CIP of Fleet Replacement.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Reliability of performance and continued rotation as necessary for the City of Peoria's fleet enhancement as well as less maintenance and repair expenses.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Higher maintenance and repair expenses in addition to attempting to maintain older fleet in safe and serviceable condition.
