ACTION REQUESTED:
Title
Communication from the City Manager and the Director of Community Development with a Recommendation from the Historic Preservation Commission and Staff to Approve a WORK PLAN for 2015.

BACKGROUND:
Due to Staff reductions, all Commission Work Plans were eliminated by 2011 and none of the Commissions currently have an active Work Plan; however, in 2013 the City Council approved a Historic Preservation Commission Work Plan. The Historic Preservation Commission has again requested the creation of a Work Plan for this year.
Some of the items from the 2013 Work Plan were not yet complete and therefore are included on the 2015 Work Plan. The Historic Preservation Commission also added several objectives for this year in an effort to better educate the public on code requirements in historic districts.
The 2015 Work Plan seeks to address the following goals:
1. Increase Efficiency
2. Increase Positive Public Outreach
The proposed 2015 Work Plan devotes 144 staff and commission hours to the outlined goals and objectives.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION:
The Historic Preservation Commission VOTED 5 TO 0 TO APPROVE the proposed Work Plan.
STAFF CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION: Staff's comments and recommendation are consistent with the recommendation from the Historic Preservation Commission and can be found in the minutes of the Historic Preservation Commission meeting.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS (at the Historic Preservation Commission meeting): None expressed
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Historic Preservation Commission will have specific goals and objectives to accomplish for 2015, and144 commission and staff hours will be devoted to the effort.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The Historic Preservation Commission will not have a Work Plan for 2015.
