ACTION REQUESTED: 

Title

Communication from the City Manager with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 18 of the CODE of the City of Peoria Pertaining to LICENSES and MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS REGULATIONS.

 

Body

BACKGROUND: On October 27, 2015 the City Manager presented to Council a balanced 2016 - 2017 Biennial Budget. As part of the budget presented, an increase in various license fees were included. The attached ordinance reflects the increase in the various licenses.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The increase in the various licensing fees will provide additional revenues of $40,600.00.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:   Citizens who participated in the Budget Challenge supported the increase in licensing fees.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED:  Licensing fees will be increased in accordance with the attached ordinance.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:   Licensing fees will not be increased.

 

ALTERNATIVES:   Increase, decrease or leave licensing fees as they are.
