APPOINTMENT by Mayor Jim Ardis of Replacement of AT-LARGE COUNCIL MEMBER to Fill the Vacancy in that Position.

BACKGROUND: Sections 65 ILCS 5/5-2-18.7 and 65 ILCS 5/5-2-12(g) provide that the City Council is to appoint a person to serve the vacancy created in the position of At-Large Council Member by the resignation of former Councilman Chuck Weaver. It is my recommendation that the Council appoint Sid Paul Ruckriegel of 1230 West Moss Ave, Peoria, Illinois to serve as an At-Large Council Member until the vacancy is filled by interim election under Section 65 ILCS 5/3.1-10-50.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Not applicable.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Not applicable.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Council will have full membership.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The Council will not have full membership.
ALTERNATIVES: The Council could appoint a different citizen to serve in this capacity.
