BACKGROUND:  The Catholic Diocese of Peoria (Diocese) has requested the vacation of 342.0 feet of the Alley adjacent to Lots 5 through 12 in Block 35 of the Original Town of Peoria. The Diocese and their entities own all the property in this block. The rights-of-way described are no longer of value to the public, and city staff has no objection to this vacation.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:   No known concerns.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED:  The Diocese will take ownership of the 342.0 feet of alley for its use and assume all future maintenance.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:   City will continue to maintain the alley and the Diocese will not be able to utilize the land.
