Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to APPROVE a CONTRACT with PEORIA METRO CONSTRUCTION, in the Amount of $87,875.00, for the Twin Towers Parking Deck Ramp Waterproofing Coating. (Council District 1)

Body
BACKGROUND: As part of the continuing maintenance of the City of Peoria's parking assets, entrance and exit ramps and various concrete repairs are periodically required. This contract provides for the entrance and exit ramps of the Twin Towers Parking Deck to have its waterproofing membrane replaced, along with concrete repairs, as needed, to keep water from leaking to the lower parking levels. The water leakage has caused concrete to break up and fall onto the cars of not only residents of the Twin Towers, but visitors, also. The bid includes an estimated 600 square feet of partial depth patching of the concrete and the waterproof coating. Attached is a copy of the bid tabulation.

The Purchasing Division distributed eighteen (18) bid packets (Bid #27-16) and received Two (2) responses. The responses follow:

Bidder Base Bid Expansion Joints Concrete Repair
Peoria Metro Const. $44,725 $8,800 $57.25 Sq Ft
Western Waterproofing $58,850 $3,600 $55.00 Sq Ft

The Good Faith Efforts documentation submitted by Peoria Metro Construction has been reviewed and approved by the Equal Opportunity Manger. The scope of work to be subcontracted is a specialty item.
