BACKGROUND:
The City of Peoria Innovation Team (i-team) is beginning the research and data analysis process within the selected priority area of neighborhood-scale economic development. Urban3, LLC is a leader in economic analytics of land use and provides unique analytics services evaluating relative economic potency of land uses. This evaluation will be used to inform both overall and geographically-targeted strategies and policy recommendations for neighborhood-scale economic development.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for this purchase would come from the Bloomberg Philanthropies Innovation Grant and is a budgeted item within the 2016 Innovation Team Budget (City Manager's Office).
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City of Peoria will benefit from the economic analysis, visualization tools and recommendations for enhancing the City's tax base and land use productivity through the identification of data-driven strategies to create measurable impact in neighborhood-scale economic development.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The City of Peoria will not have the data analysis and visualization tools to inform potential initiatives and policy recommendations.
