Title
Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to Authorize the City Manager to Enter into an AGREEMENT with PEORIA HOUSING AUTHORITY for the City to Provide FLEET MAINTENANCE SERVICES.

Body
BACKGROUND: The Peoria Housing Authority (PHA) recently lost the vendor that provided their fleet maintenance services. In considering other vendors to provide maintenance services for their fleet of 20 vehicles, they contacted the City's Fleet Services Manager. The City has come to an agreement with PHA representatives to provide year-round scheduled maintenance and break-down repairs, and diagnostics on PHA vehicles. All maintenance and repairs on PHA vehicles will go through the City of Peoria's garage located at 3505 N. Dries Lane. The agreement covers additional work through local dealerships at the city's discounted rates and provides parts at the city's cost.

The Peoria Housing Authority Board CEO approved this agreement July 17, 2017 (Noncompetitive Procurement Justification No. 002-07-2017-NCJ Automotive Services attached).

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Peoria Housing Authority has agreed to compensate the City at a rate of $85.00/hour, which projects a $25,000 gross revenue.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Having an efficiently maintained fleet owned by local organizations, so that they may efficiently perform their functions, is important to the Citizens of Peoria.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City of Peoria will provide fleet maintenance services to the Peoria Housing Authority, further developing the working relationship of the entities and providing assistance to this essential local organization.

IMPACT IF DENIED: The City will not provide fleet maintenance services to the PHA.
