BACKGROUND: The lift to be replaced was installed in 1986 and is the medium duty lift used to service vans and medium size service trucks that are too heavy for the light duty lifts. Upon inspection, a hydraulic leak was discovered that is beyond repair.
The Sourcewell / NJPA Contract Number the City will use for this purchase is 061015-MRL.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding will come from the 2019 Public Works Capital Improvement Plan, project number A1912.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The nearly 30-year-old lift will be replaced, providing for timely repairs of city vehicles and a safer working environment for the mechanics.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The lift is unusable to work on any equipment in the city’s fleet. If denied, this will cause delays in getting city vehicles back on the road.
