Communication from Peoria Township Supervisor with a Request to AWARD a CONTRACT for Renovation at 427 W MAIN ST to MID-ILLINI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.

BACKGROUND: The capital improvement provides for renovation from a retail operation to accommodate the Township offices. The renovated building will allow for additional services and easier access for clients as well as a better work environment for the staff.
In early November of 2020 the Township issued a request for bids and solicitations were sent to four (4) vendors. The Township received three (3) responses on December 2nd and the bids were reviewed by the Township Supervisor and Assessor.
The net result is were recommending Mid- Illini due to the fact they were the low bidder at $288,790.00 (Two Hundred Eighty-Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Dollars), and they will exceed the minority participation goals set by the City.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds for the renovation are coming from the Township General Fund Reserve account.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: There are no neighborhood concerns.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: This will allow easier access for our clients, additional services to be offered, and better working environment for the staff.
IMPACT IF DENIED: It will limit our services at our current Township office.
