BACKGROUND:  This purchase price includes the installation of the Outdoor Warning Siren.  The outdoor warning siren will be located/installed on the City of Peoria right-of-way next to Hickory Grove School and will insure coverage in this location.  Currently there is no outdoor warning siren located in this area to serve the citizens of North Peoria.

 

This new siren will be equipped with nine omni-directional high-powered speaker and siren cells, which will allow the Emergency Communication Center (ECC) to direct citizens during emergency situations.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  Funding is available in the 2021 Community Investment Plan account for Outdoor Warning Siren purchases.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  Neighborhoods in this area will have enhance emergency warning coverage in cases of emergencies.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: This siren will greatly enhance coverage in the area of North Peoria that currently has no warning siren system coverage.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  This area of the City will not have adequate warning in cases of emergencies.
