BACKGROUND: Rakan Madanat, Owner, Rocky’s Market, presented a Site Application for a Class C (Grocery/Packaged Goods) Liquor License at 1500 NE Jefferson. The Liquor Commission voted 5-0 to recommend denial of this Site Application. Minutes of the March 1, 2021 Liquor Commission Meeting are attached.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Several neighborhood residents submitted emails in opposition of a liquor license at the site due to the fear of a negative neighborhood impact, increased litter, traffic, crime, etc.
The applicant submitted several customer letters of support for a liquor license at the subject property.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Alcoholic beverages can be sold at this establishment.
IMPACT IF DENIED: This site will not be able to sell any kind of alcohol.
