Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to APPROVE a STATE MOTOR FUEL TAX (MFT) RESOLUTION, in the Amount of $1,200,000.00, for the NORTHMOOR ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (from ALLEN ROAD to UNIVERSITY STREET). (Council District 4)

BACKGROUND: The subject Northmoor Road project, from Allen Road to University Street, was the final phase of improvement to this arterial street. Construction was substantially completed in 2019. Currently, the project documentation and accounts are being finalized by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT.) IDOT will send the final invoice for the City share of the project in the near future.
This MFT resolution will support the remaining payments for construction and construction engineering.
The Joint Agreement related to the Northmoor Road construction was approved by Council as Item #17-163 on June 13, 2017.
Construction engineering services provided by Millennia Professional Services of Illinois, Ltd., a MBE, were approved by Council as Item #18-369-N on December 11, 2018.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding will come from State Motor Fuel Tax revenue (MFT Section #05-00302-00-PV) and Community Investment Plan Project R2009 Northmoor Road, Allen Road to University Street.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The stated project expenses will be paid with State Motor Fuel Tax Dollars.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Other funds will need to be sought to cover the remaining project expenses.
