Communication from Council Member Montelongo to ADOPT a RESOLUTION Establishing the CENTRAL RETAIL DISTRICT. (Council District 4)

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  Councilman Montelongo has been working with several business owners in Council District 4 to establish common branding for the retail area generally bounded by Northwoods Mall, Glen Hollow Shopping Center, and Westlake Shopping Center. This resolution would establish the newly named Central Retail District.

 

This resolution simply establishes the name of the district and does not assign any benefits or costs to the properties within the district or any obligations on behalf of the City.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  NA

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  Supported by business owners in the area.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Central Retail District would be established.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  The Central Retail District would not be established.
