BACKGROUND:
PowerDMS is a web-based law enforcement policy management platform which will allow the Peoria Police Department to create, edit, organize, distribute, and confirm receipt of new and existing policies and orders to all officer and civilian staff. In addition to policy management, PowerDMS offers web-based training solutions which will allow the Department to offer some state mandated training through a web-based platform rather than in-person group settings.
The Peoria Police Department already uses a limited version of PowerDMS for document management through its CALEA accreditation, however the license is provided by CALEA and limited to use by the Accreditation Manager for accreditation purposes. The Department has found the software to be a user friendly and efficient document management tool and is therefore seeking a license for use by all department employees.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost of the software license subscription is $33,198.89 for three years. Funds are provided in account 101-2131-503599.
