A. APPROVE a Local Agency AGREEMENT for the JURISDICTIONAL TRANSFER of the City-Owned Properties in the Infield for Ramps Between WAR MEMORIAL DRIVE and ADAMS STREET, from the Municipal Street System to the State Highway System; and

B. ADOPT an ORDINANCE for the JURISDICTIONAL TRANSFER of Parcel ID Nos. 14-35-131-001 and 14-35-131-002, in the Infield for Ramps between WAR MEMORIAL DRIVE and ADAMS STREET, from the Municipal Street System to the State Highway System (Illinois Department of Transportation- IDOT). (Council District 1)

BACKGROUND: During the US150 (War Memorial Drive) project it was discovered by IDOT that the City of Peoria owns some properties in the infield for the ramps between War Memorial Drive and Adams Street. These properties were missed in the original property transfer back in the 1940s.

IDOT contacted the City in 2021 and requested that the City adopt a resolution transferring the property to IDOT and for the City to sign the IDOT Jurisdictional Transfer Agreement form.


FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no cost to the City for this transfer.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: There will be no impact to the neighborhoods.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City will transfer ownership and maintenance to the State of Illinois.

IMPACT IF DENIED: The City will not transfer ownership and maintenance to the State of Illinois.

ALTERNATIVES: As Council directs.
