Communication from the City Manager, Finance Director and Community Development Director with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE to RESCIND a Portion of Ordinance No. 17,891, Amending CHAPTER 18 of the CODE of the City of Peoria, Requiring Children’s Hospitals to be Licensed.

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  On October 12th, 2021, City Council passed an ordinance removing the requirement for Children’s Hospitals in the City of Peoria to obtain a license.  It has been brought to the City’s attention that removing this requirement could jeopardize funding for children’s hospitals operating in the City of Peoria.  At the request of a current license holder, the license requirement will be reinstated.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  NA

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Children’s Hospitals operating in the City of Peoria will be required to obtain a license.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Children’s Hospitals operating in the City of Peoria will not be required to obtain a license.
