Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to ACCEPT the LOW BID of ILLINOIS CIVIL CONTRACTORS, INC., in the Amount of $387,910.38, and APPROVE a CONTRACT for the VILLA LAKE DRIVE AND WILDLIFE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION, with an Additional Authorization of $38,791.04 (10%) for Contingencies, for a Total Award of $426,701.42. (Council District 5)

BACKGROUND: Villa Lake Drive and Wildlife Drive are in dire need of reconstruction due to poor road condition. Villa Lake Drive between Wildlife Drive and Willow Knolls Drive has a pavement condition index (PCI) of 26 whereas Wildlife Drive between Villa Lake Drive and Willowlake Drive has a PCI of 59. Villa Lake and Wildlife are commercial and residential connectors. This project is a two-block concrete roadway reconstruction project. The project also include new sidewalk, ADA ramps and curb and gutter. Staff anticipates construction will be completed by August 12, 2022.
Austin Engineering Company prepared the plans and specifications. Public Works received bids on March 22, 2022, with six bidders submitting.
