Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to APPROVE an INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT with the COUNTY OF PEORIA for Traffic Control Devices, Pavement Markings, and Street Striping.

BACKGROUND: 

 

The City of Peoria Public Works Department has been providing traffic control device maintenance on County roads for over two decades. This includes traffic striping, pavement markings, and traffic signal repair. The attached intergovernmental agreement is based on the City’s previous agreement with the County that expired on June 1, 2021. The Peoria County Board approved this agreement at their July 14, 2022 meeting.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  The City will continue to be reimbursed at the established base rates set forth in the attached agreement, Exhibit C as effected by the multiplier outlined within the agreement.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  N/A

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The agreement will be continued.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Denial of the agreement would indicate that the City Council did not wish to provide this service under these terms to the County. The City would cease providing these services immediately and the County would need to seek alternatives.
