BACKGROUND: The project consists of Sidewalk and ADA ramps improvements in various locations throughout the City.

The plans and specifications were prepared by Prairie Engineers. The Advertisement for Bids for this project was published in the Peoria Journal Star and on the City's website. Public Works opened Bids on February 7, 2023 with 4 bids received.

C&G Concrete is a local business that has successfully performed work for the city in the past.

The subcontractor utilization statement submitted by C&G Concrete proposes that the company will be utilizing the following
* MBE subcontractor: Kelley Iron Works for Handrails represents1.0% of the total contract amount The City's MBE goal is 10%.
* WBE subcontractor: Kelch Landscape for Landscaping represents 12.0% of the total contract amount The City's WBE goal is 5%.

Documentation was reviewed and approve by the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The project is funded through the Community Investment Plan Sidewalk and ADA Ramps Project which has project numbers S2201 and S2301.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Repairing sidewalks will improve pedestrian access throughout the neighborhoods.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Sidewalk infrastructure will be improved.
