On March 20, 2020 the Governor of Illinois issued Executive Order 2020-10 issuing a Stay-at-Home Order for the State for the preservation of public health and safety and to ensure that the State’s healthcare delivery system is capable of serving those who are sick.  On March 18, 2020, March 24, 2020, April 14, 2020, April 21, 2020, April 28, 2020, May 12, 2020, May 26, 2020, June 9, 2020, June 23, 2020, July 14, 2020, July 28 and August 11, 2020 the Mayor of Peoria issued a Declaration of Local State of Emergency invoking the powers granted pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code, the Illinois Emergency Management Act and Ordinance Section 7-35.2.

7.                     Enter into contracts for the employment of temporary workers, the rental of equipment, the purchase of supplies and materials and the appropriate expenditures and disposition of public funds and property as necessary.
